It looks like Russell Crowe is working on changing his bad boy image.

The actor, who is currently filming Robin Hood, reportedly gave a generous money donation to the Cancer Research store in Sunningdale, Berks.

A volunteer said:

"We couldn't believe it when Russell Crowe came in and gave us the money. We had been hoping to catch a glimpse of him.

"We were all a bit star-struck, but it was lovely to meet him and he stopped and had a bit of a chat with us."

Recently, it was reported that the 45-year-old actor gave a boom operator on the Robin Hood set $8,000 to buy a new car after hers broke down.

Awww...what a swell guy.

Really living up to that whole "give to the poor" thing, aren't ya?
